Day & Evening Pet Clinic SPOT Information |
|
Scheduling: We schedule surgeries 7 days a week. An appointment must be made to guarantee availability. Surgeries are done at time of drop off and pets go home the same day. If the below times do not meet your schedule please call us and we will see if we can accommodate your schedule.
Drop off times: Mon-Friday: 3:00pm to 4:00pm Saturday/Sunday: 9:00am only
Pick Up times: These vary depending on how many surgeries are scheduled and you will be told at time of drop off when to return and pick up your pet. Generally the pick-up time is 2-4 hours after drop-off but never past our closing time. Please note: We close the clinic at 2pm Saturday/Sunday and at 8pm Mon-Fri. If you are not here before closing time, you will be charged a boarding fee of $15 and will have to return the next day for your pet.
Surgery Cautions: All food must be taken away from your pet the night before surgery. If your pet will be having surgery before 12:00pm - please remove their food by 8pm the night before. If your pet will have surgery later the next day, please remove their food at midnight the night before. Pets may have small amounts of water but no food the day of Surgery. NO EXCEPTIONS. SPOT prices for spay & neuter include anesthesia with the surgery and nothing else. If you would like pain medicine or antibiotics to go home with you after surgery, please ask one of our staff and we will provide these for your pet at an extra cost. For optimal recovery we do recommend pain medicine, antibiotics and an Elizabethan Collar but these are not mandatory. We also highly recommend pre-anesthetic blood work to be done on pets over 6 years of age. Again, this is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
Location & Driving Directions: We are located at 3206 Alternate (Alt.) 19 Hwy, Palm Harbor, FL 34683. We are between Alderman and Klosterman roads. We are about half a mile north of Alderman Rd. and about two miles south of Klosterman Rd.
Please click here and you will be able to get driving directions to our clinic.
Payment Methods: Our clinic accepts cash, debit cards and all major credit cards - no checks.
Vaccine Requirements: We require all pets to have the Rabies Vaccine. Your pet can get this at our clinic the day of surgery. If your pet has already had their Rabies Vaccine, please bring proof of this with you or have it faxed to our clinic at (727) 785-7225 and please mark it “attention new patient”.
Post Surgery Care Instructions: Since you are picking up your pet the DAY OF SURGERY your pet will be lethargic and appear groggy for the rest of the day. This is normal for the first 12-24 hours following surgery. During the recovery time, provide a clean, warm place indoors for your pet to rest - away from slippery floors, stairs, pools, or other hazards (a crate or carrier is best). Also, keep other household pets separate from the recently spayed/neutered pet for at least the first day. There is no need for a suture removal. Internal sutures are used. Keep the surgery site dry until it is healed. No bathing for at least a week. Make sure your pet does not bite or lick at the surgery site. If your pet is coming home with an Elizabethan Collar (cone-shaped collar to prevent licking the surgery site) this should be worn at all times for 5 days. Your pet will not be very hungry or thirsty after their surgery, but you may give them small amounts of food and water if desired. NOTE: Some vomiting the day of surgery is normal. You should only be concerned if your pet is vomiting in excess. Limit exercise for 7 days. Try to prevent excessive running or jumping. Leash walk only.
Other Services: Our clinic is a regular full service veterinary office. If you would like additional services for your pet please let one of our staff know.
Extra Fees: Our clinic is a flea-free environment. If fleas are found on your pet we will treat them at an additional cost of at least $16 which will be added to your bill. It is recommended that you treat your pet for fleas and/or bathe them prior to day of surgery. (Note: You will not be able to bathe your pet for at least one week following surgery.) Pregnant/In-Heat/Obese/Lactating: for pets that fall into one of these categories, an additional fee of $20 will be charged. If you would like other services they will be made available to your pet at additional fees. For any other questions and to make your appointment, please call us at:
